Zoning Permits are needed to buy expansions (plot 12 x 12). They are stored in your inventory and will be consumed once you buy a new expansion plot. This item has an inventory limit of 60.

They can also drop at a random chance when collecting from City Hall 2, City Hall 3, or the Hardware Store.

In December 2011, the Zoning Permit was removed from the Free Gifts page. It was reinstated for a limited time.

4/13/11: Zoning Permits are back on the free gift page for now.

Each expansion will cost you an increasing number of Zoning Permits + Coins-icon.png 20,000 Coins; until level 15, The max number of zoning permits for a expansion is 40., and coins compound ~36% per expansion:

    l don't like that expansion of my city and downtown have same zoning permit. Zynga should make 2 types of Zoning permit. Ex: Zoning Permit and Downtown Zoning Permit.

    why are zoning permit request still on the inbox request page even after you accept the gift? I now have 178 that will not disappear. Are they allowing us to keep them until we use them? It this is so, people will be spending the money to unlock expansions so they can use these permits.

      as you probably know 60 permits is the max you can have in your inventory, if you have more requests for them even though you're full they will remain in the inbox untill the request has expired (dont know how long that takes) and untill then you can still accept them once you have used those in your inventory. goes like that for me so i wouldnt know why not for other people =P

    My ZONING PERMIT keep expiring from inbox if i dont use them in time. i need 5000 pop everytime i expand, so by the time i get the population with 60 in inventory whatever in inbox keep expiring. Zinga need to solve this.

    I have 15+ zoning permits in my inbox. Everytime I click 'accept and send' and close the dialog box, the request pops up again in my inbox. My zoning permit requests were only 5 then. But now it tripled and it gets annoying when you click it and then nothing happens.

      The request came from gamersunite.com that was not a glitch. You have option request zp from their you also have an option to send zoning permit from Gamersunite gift section that way I can earn 60-70 ZP every day. The following link help you to more about this. gamersunite.coolchaser.com

      some times gamersunite. com make lot of duplicate entries of one request the first one is real one the other are worthless but it annoying our help request page. Use one click gifts help to solve this issue.
