Build Menu

Shipping is one of the categories of the Build Menu. Shipping is used to help get supplies (goods) for Businesses in CityVille. It is unlocked by completing goals or having a certain amount of neighbors. Another way of gaining goods is by Farming.

Upgrading your piers will allow more storage and extend the dock to accommodate more ships. Completion of pier levels or certain goals will unlock/reward new freighters.

ContractsEdit

Depending on the type of ship/freighter used for the shipping contracts, the cost will be higher and the amount of goods will also increase. The ship's return time will remain the same. The benefit is getting more goods for less energy used to unload the ship.

With changes like this, the game is edging towards breaking point, where it becomes too top heavy to maintain by the developers and gamers quit because signing in relentlessly, posting and requesting relentlessly turns entertainment into a drag.

Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself. I still love the game, and understand its nice to have a challenge, but for the first time last night I started thinking this is way too much requesting of items and thought about quiting the game. It's a shame because most of my friends have already.

Can I have my City Coins back? I spent almost 4 millions coins on 'Super Freighter' and now they're not even worth it! Freighter is 10 times cheaper. I wouldn't have bought lots of them if I'd known otherwise!

The paris parcel is now 274 goods for 190 gold for a super freighter. Yes it looks like they cut the bonuses for the more expensive ships so the 100,000 gold superfreighters are now paying out the same as the the 100 gold boats. That is a really sucky change / bug !!!!!!!

Is it just me or are all of the shipping lines paying out less as of today???? I used to get around 3700 goods for a 1 day route with all of superfreighters and not I am not even getting 2500. Is Zynga trying to screw us over again?!?!?!?!

How long does it take for your ships crops to wither ?

it takes twice time eg. if carrots take 8 hours to harvest then it could wither after 16 hours

Is there a chart that shows how long it takes each type of good/ship to wither/spill? that would definitely be helpful in deciding what to send/grow.

The different shipping contracts cost different prices, depending on the type of boat you are using! You pay a lot more for a Paris Parcel on a Special Super freighter than on a regular boat. You also receive different amounts of goods, depending on the type of boat (and the price you paid to send it).

I don't have access to the shipping tab. How can I build a pier? I've read that you have to build a new park first, complete the increase population goal, build a school and then become mayor to unlock the "New Seaport" goal. I became Mayor a long time ago but none of these other items/goal were offered (or I didn't notice them at the time). How can I fix this now to get access to the shipping options?

Contact support and tell them you still dont have pier - They can reissue quests you need - you have to become Mayor (harvest 6 strawberries, collect 10 rents, 30 businesses, water, harvest neighbor crops, place playground, 5 sidewalks, 2 stop signs, 2 (?) roads .... I think that was everything - basic beginning of game tasks. The you get sea port quest.

If you are using the Dragon Boat or Brazilian Barge, then that's why. Both were released with the bug that didn't allow you to see the time.

Contact Support and ask them to reissue the quests that lead to Sea Port quest.

What is your friend's level? Looking at the settings, it seems to imply the min level for unlocking a freighter is 100. O_O

Can the pier be rotated, so the the place for boats aims left or right? I would like to place it at the mouth of the river, below the bridge on the left. (the right side has rocks, so I would guess it couldn't go there)
