The Rent Collector is a 3x3 sized structure and feature in Cityville that let's you auto-collect rent from multiple residences. It takes 5 energy and 2 staff members to complete. You need 1 gas and 1 energy to collect from each residence.

Using Auto CollectEdit

To activate this feature, select the Rent Collector structure or go to the Tools menu. Click on a group of residences to auto collect rent, within the 12 x 12 green box and the selected residences will be highlighted in orange.

You can post on your wall or stream to ask friends for gas and receive gas by clicking on friends' posts.

What a waste of effort to build this. And I can't store in in warehouse.
It actually waste more effort to collect rent, as I have to click it precisely to maximise the number of house inside the the 12x12 block.

where do you get the rent collector car from? I have the goal but cant find it in my inventory OR in the build menu.

omg what a sh it xD i had this and deleted - the only difference from using this is that you need Gas! and Neighborhoods ruined this feature. zynga shame on you!

i cant understand what is the point of this feature...i can collect rent anyway..why do i have to collect gas to take rent..its senceless

The point of the feature is to create new horizons and enabling you opportunities to explore more ways to spend more money in CV, as you have to spend gas AND energy to collect rent, as opposed to the traditional obsolete way of spending only energy which yields less profits to Zynga. This comes at the cost of the burden of extra complexity of handling selected areas and subsequent modifications as your city evolves, but the overwhelming gain of Zynga profits makes this feature preferable among Zynga enthusiasts. Zynga will be so happy if you use it, that it will release more game cash items, at even higher prices so to fulfill your life meaning as a faithful consumer. Understood? I mean, if you don't make perfect sense of my reply, just ask an Apple customer. They know well.

Does it save Energy (and by that I mean the energy in the game, not your physical energy) when you use to collect from neighbourhoods? Can you use it to collect from neighbourhoods?

After getting 50 Gas we can't Ask for More Gas 50 is it's limit.But still you can buy Gas with cash to increase from 50, only you can not wall post after 50 Gas.

the feature seems stupid. i am pretty fine with just clicking on residences one by one. anyway, zynga should have thought of instant collect.(Collect all houses within one click)

Actually, If you collect from 5 or more houses, you save some energy. So as long as you have sufficient gas, it's not too bad.

since i finished building this shit and started to know its feature by trying to make this work once, i have never used it again. in fact i just wanna delete it in my city because it occupies 3x3 space! but it will be nice as a decor if it is a decor, but it's not. so just to appreciate this feature, i just put this near my beach and put it along side may parking lots to make it look like an occupied parking lot :D

I feel the same way. If it had used a single energy to collect from 5 residences then it would have been nice, but the way it is it's actually a burden. In addition to using 1 energy per residence to collect like normal, you now have to get gas too. It's costing you more resources to collect from the same 5 residences than it did doing it the old way.

yeah i agree with you. this thing is just a burden. and mind you they put a statement that says 'save your energy' on the promotion of this feature when in fact, you will use same energy and will have to use MORE 'physical energy' to gather those 'gas' to maintain this shit from working. IT'S LIKE AN INSTANT COLLECTOR, BUT YOU'RE ENERGY WILL INSTANTLY VANISH! HORRIBLE!

Neither saves you energy nor physical energy (unless you're THAT lazy). Saves a few seconds of clicking.
Bottom line: Uses the same amount of energy as harvesting each yourself except now you need gas to do it. I'll keep it in case they decide to make it less annoying ... like 1 click = 10 residences for 5 energy + 5 gas (and none of that bs of having to upgrade to that point, i say start there and upgrade higher).

The advantage is with one click you can collect from multiple residences. With proper placement, you can collect from more than 5 residences for only 5 energy (plus gas), saving energy. Useful, but not overly so.

Doesn't save energy, still uses the same amount of energy as harvesting each one but now you need 5 gay also.

What's next? An 'absentee landlord' decoration that requires energy, gas and cash and then deletes the coins from your account instead of adding to your total? This got used once and I'll probably only keep it until I need that 3x3 for something better, like a level 1 bakery.
