The Inventory is the storage inbox of the game in CityVille. When you receive items from neighbors, collections, goals, or other sources, they will be placed here for you until you use them.

On February 14, 2012, a new and improved Inventory was released for everyone in CityVille, with more storage and grouping of items by categories to make finding them easier. The most recent items will be on the first page. The inventory storage will increase to hold 4,000 items. You will receive seven new categories: Recent, Consumables, Residences, Community Buildings, Businesses, Decorations, and Other.

Starting on January 23, 2012, players who paid Cash-icon.png 30 Cash were among the first to get access to this new inventory.

With the soon-to-be released Downtown, a Downtown category was added.

LimitsEdit

Overall LimitEdit

Currently, there is an overall limit of 2,000 items. If you are at the limit, any gifts or items you receive will not be added. This is something to keep in mind when nearing the limit, so you don't lose any items.

On December 7th, 2011, the Inventory was updated to hold 2,000 unique items. For example, if you have 10 marbles it will count as 1 item instead of 10 items.

Individual LimitsEdit

Certain items in your inventory have their own limits. If you reach the limit of a given item, you will get an Inventory Overflow pop-up saying "You have reached the maximum number of that item already in your inventory."

    New inventory is a *huge* improvement. Now if they'd just put an 'x' on *every* item so I can clear out all the garbage I don't want! And it'd be nice if when a quest is retired if they'd automatically eliminate all the inventory items that went with it (or at least toss them in some kind of long-term storage so they didn't clog up the regular inventory).

      My is also 2000, did anyone get the 4000. Also, when in item is used (like those master stand), the number of used inventory did not get reduce, I used about the 10 items (all single items, or when is muyltiple, I used all), the total remain the same.

    I have an idea for the inventory, and I hope the developers read this. After finally getting all the items needed to finish a building, or a bridge, I still have the items needed for them. Just like unwanted items. Do I really need 25 cows? or 13 bunnies? And if I go to sell them off, it is a long and boring process. I think what they should do, is add an auction section, or a garage sale section. Place the items you don't want in there, and others can look through it, and pay a game set price for the items. And make it like buildings, where some are paid for with city coin, some with city cash. I think it would help those who need items, and those who need the coin, cash and the space in inventory.

    With the "You have reached the maximum number of that item already in your inventory." it will probably help if it tell us which item is full. A popup with no useful information, should not appear at all.

    an annoying thing with the new inventory is you can only get out energy one at a time zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz thats the only thing that sucks - the catagories are a lot better being grouped etc... the 4000 allowance is over kill and not necessary 2000 was plenty

    hi all... I went ahead and paid for the upgrade now.  It is well worth it.
  You all need to stop whining.  Zynga runs a BUSINESS!  Start getting used to paying for what you use, like a GOOD CONSUMER!

    Zynga, you finally make an improvement to the game that was absolutely necessary and you want us to pay for it. How about you refund to me all the times I lost something in my inventory (mostly energy) because your game crashed "- oops seems like we need to go back to your last saved state" (which so interestingly always means I lost all the improvements and gifts I worked hard to get).

      Same here, I must have lose thousands of energy because the game has to go back to its last saved state, all the improvement I made whcih cost 50- or so energy is gone, if only there is a way to force save the game after every little action
