Originally crops mastery required many more harvests. In mid August 2011, Zynga reduced the number of harvests needed to make it easier to complete the Sailboat Hotel.

When a crop is mastered to level 3, a decorative trophy is awarded. You are also given the title "master", of whichever crop you mastered. They can each be sold for  5 Coins.
