The Build Menu lets the player purchase items for cash and coins. It is here that all houses, businesses, decorations, crops and plots, shipping objects, community buildings, energy refills, expansions, and wonders can be purchased and built. There are different tabs for each of these types of objects in addition to a tab with the latest objects.
In August 2011, the Build Menu layout has changed. New features include tabs that filter within the categories, top four best sellers list, and a search function.
Try Before You Buy!

This feature introduced on Jan. 25, 2012 allows players to try out select items before buying them. Click on the eye icon to place the item in your city. The items are temporary and will be removed at the end of the gaming session.

where is the try befre u buy friends?

Why did you change the 'request items from friends list' now I have to uncheck each one???????

Click on "select all" twice to get rid of all the check marks. It's a rather rude trick on the part of Zynga to try and get you to accidentally "select all" and waste all your materials requests for the day. It's the same deal with the mailbox for recieving gifts. If you click on "accept and send", everyone gets a gold mystery gift. Then you've used up all the gifts you can send, so you can't send something actually useful, like passport stamps, zoning permits or energy.

I need to get rid of my snow too......

It's gone from the build menu, however, Zynga removed the snow from all the cities at the end of April last year. It will probably disappear soon. If not, you will have to contact Zynga support to get it fixed.

Click on the big arrow on the menu bar. Then click on the icon that says "store item". Then click on the shade tree.

It works like this: Click on the item in the build menu that you want to try. Move it to where you want to put it, but don't click again. See if it fits and if you like it there. If not, click on the arrow tool and it will go back in the build menu without you buying it. Be careful with this, because it's easy to click someplace in your city by accident after you have selected an item. Then you've bought it and can't put it back.

go to the build menu and search for "grass cover". you can then buy it for 500 coins

Hello Cityville, population requirement for 1 expansion is very HIGH!... I'm at level 85 and got 136,570 population and try to expand, it needs 3,540 for 1 expansion!. think what is the size of it 12x14 I guess. its just enough for 4 house how about the business buildings, government buildings and decorations where we put it?!. If you want that your player will enjoy you must lower it. I just wanted to enjoy much!.. Same as all the player wanted!.

Everyone is having the same problem. You can contact Zynga Support to complain, but they will probably ignore you. It's been up to 5000 population for just one expansion for months now.

Hello Cityville, Just wanted to know!.. LAFONTAINE HOUSE is not included in the FRENCH HOUSES?, I built 5 of those but there's nothing happen in my quest. how come? its FRANCH THEME... you ask 5 french houses, so I build it and it cost 35,000 coins. when I found out that there is nothing happen with my quest I try to sell it but you just buy 17,500 coins.... I will lost my 87,500?????????????
